University of Missouri-St. Louis junior guard Gerald Fulton (Hazelwood, Mo./Hazelwood East/Mineral Area) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week. Fulton set a Quincy/Subway Holiday Tournament record by pouring in 58 points in two contests at the annual event.

In the Tritons’ 78-69 win over St. Edward’s on Saturday, Fulton posted a game-high 29 points. He connected on 12-of-12 free throw attempts in the win and also grabbed seven rebounds and had three blocked shots.

On Sunday, in UMSL’s 73-68 loss at Quincy, Fulton again poured in 29 points on 11-of-20 shooting. He was 7-of-11 from the three-point line in the contest and also had three rebounds.

On the week, Fulton shot 46.2 percent from the field, including 52.6 percent from the three-point line on 10-of-19 shooting. He averaged 29.0 points and 5.0 rebounds per game and was a perfect 12-of-12 from the free throw line.

Fulton, who has scored in double figures in all nine contests for the Tritons, leads the GLVC in scoring with 24.0 points per game this season. He also ranks second in the league in three-point field goal percentage (47.8%) and third in three-point field goals made (33). Fulton is averaging 3.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game on the year.

UMSL (7-2, 2-0 GLVC) has won six of its last seven games and will return to action at home against Missouri S&T on Jan. 2.

Other top performers in the GLVC last week included Bellarmine’s Justin Benedetti, Drury’s Alex Hall, Illinois-Springfield’s Brandon Farmer, Kentucky Wesleyan’s Anthony Young, Lewis’ Matt Toth, Quincy’s Josh Edmonds, Saint Joseph’s Marcus Jackson, UIndy’s Adrian Moss and UW-Parkside’s Tim Baines.
