INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – University of Indianapolis’ DeAndre Brock (Indianapolis, Ind.) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week. The junior guard averaged 21.5 points for the Greyhounds in wins over nationally-ranked Quincy and SIU Edwardsville.
In UIndy’s 68-63 win over No. 9 Quincy on Jan. 18, Brock tallied a season-high 25 points. He was 7-of-13 (.538) from the field and knocked down 4-of-6 (.667) three-point attempts. Brock collected four rebounds, dished out three assists and converted all seven of his free throw attempts, including four in the final seconds to seal the win.
Brock posted a team-high 18 points in UIndy’s 69-67 win over SIU Edwardsville on Jan. 20. He scored six points in the final minute of play and connected on 3-of-4 free throw attempts down the stretch to ice the victory. He finished 6-of-12 (.500) from the field and 5-of-8 (.625) from the free throw line. Brock also added six rebounds in the contest.
For the week, Brock averaged 21.5 points, five rebounds and 1.5 assists per game. He shot 52 percent from the field, 50 percent from the three-point line and 80 percent from the free throw line.
He is averaging a team-best 17.4 points to go along with 4.1 rebounds per game this season.
UIndy has won three straight games and leads the GLVC East Division with a 6-3 conference record. The Greyhounds are 10-6 overall.
