Bellarmine University freshman guard Kylee Hamilton (Morgantown, Ind./Indian Creek) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week. Hamilton averaged 20 points per game in three contests for the Knights last week.

In Bellarmine’s 106-79 win at Central State on Tuesday night, Hamilton posted a career-high 25 points on 9-of-11 shooting. Her 81.8 percent effort from the field was highlighted by a perfect 5-of-5 performance from three-point range. She also chipped in four rebounds and two assists in the victory.

Hamilton opened the Dustdevil Holiday Classic with eight points, three rebounds and two assists in the Knights’ 97-83 loss to UT-Permian Basin on Friday night before pacing Bellarmine to a 92-79 win over host Texas A&M International on Saturday. In the win, she bested her career mark with a game-high 27 points. Hamilton was 10-of-17 from the field and 2-of-3 from behind the three-point arc and also pulled down five rebounds and had three steals.

For the week, Hamilton averaged 20.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.0 steals per game. She shot 58.3 percent from the field, 70 percent from the three-point line and 73.3 percent from the free throw line.

Hamilton is averaging 12.9 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game for the Knights this season.

Bellarmine (6-4, 1-1 GLVC) will return to action at Lewis on Jan. 2.
