University of Indianapolis senior guard Darius Adams (Decatur, Ill./MacArthur/Lincoln College) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week. Adams averaged 23.0 points per game in leading the Greyhounds to a 3-0 record against conference foes.

In UIndy’s 81-72 win at Quincy on Tuesday, Adams scored all 16 of his points in the second half to guide the Greyhounds to the tough road victory. He was 4-of-7 from the field, 2-of 3 from the three-point line and he converted all six free throw attempts while also chipping in three assists and a steal.

He returned on Thursday to post his first double-double of the season in UIndy’s 92-78 win over visiting Missouri-St. Louis. He helped the Greyhounds hand the Tritons their first GLVC loss of the season by posting 27 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists and four steals. Adams was 11-of-19 from the field and canned all five free throw attempts.

In Saturday’s 82-62 win over visiting Maryville, Adams tallied 26 points on 9-of-15 shooting. He was 4-of-6 from the three-point line and also had seven rebounds, two assists and a steal.

For the week, Adams averaged 23.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.7 steals per game. He shot 58.5 percent from the field, 50 percent from the three-point line and was a perfect 15-of-15 from the free throw line.

Adams is ranked first in the GLVC in steals per game this season (2.3) and second in the league scoring at 23.1 points per game. He is also ranked fourth in the league in free throw percentage (90.6) and 11th in assists per game (3.6). Adams also averages 5.0 rebounds per game and is shooting 44.6 percent from the field.

UIndy (11-2) has won eight straight games and sits at 4-1 in the GLVC. The Greyhounds will host Missouri S&T and visit Lewis this weekend.

Other top performers in the GLVC last week included Bellarmine’s Braydon Hobbs, Drury’s JaJuan Maxwell, Kentucky Wesleyan’s Anthony Young, Lewis’ Dennis Thomas, Jr., Maryville’s Zach Perkins, Northern Kentucky’s Josh Tabb, Rockhurst’s Najja Nicholson and Southern Indiana’s Brandon Hogg.
