Drury University senior forward JaJuan Maxwell (Raytown, Mo./Raytown/SE Missouri St.) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week. Maxwell guided the Panthers to three wins in conference play last week, including a pair of key road victories.
In the three contests, Maxwell averaged 20.0 points and 8.3 rebounds per game while shooting 65.7 percent from the field. He posted three steals, three blocked shots on the week and also notched a double-double in the Panthers’ come-from-behind win at Lewis on Thursday.
In Monday’s 86-78 win over visiting Wisconsin-Parkside, Maxwell tallied a game-high 22 points on 8-of-10 shooting and chipped in seven rebounds, an assist and blocked shot.
He returned on Thursday to post 19 points and 11 rebounds in Drury’s 62-59 win at Lewis. In the win, Maxwell was 9-of-16 from the field and grabbed six of his boards on the offensive end.  
Drury toppled host Quincy on Saturday afternoon 84-79. Maxwell netted 19 points and had seven rebounds, three steals and a blocked shot in the win. He was 6-of-9 from the field and 7-of-8 from the free throw line.
Maxwell is averaging 16.5 points and 6.3 rebounds per game this season for the Panthers. He is shooting 63.5 percent from the field and 70 percent from the free throw line. He ranks eighth in the league in scoring, fourth in field goal percentage and tenth in both rebounds and blocked shots per game (0.67).
Drury (13-5) moved to 6-4 in the GLVC with the three victories and is currently in second place in the GLVC West Division. The Panthers will host Maryville and division-leading Missouri-St. Louis this weekend.
Other top performers in the GLVC last week included Bellarmine’s Jeremy Kendle, Illinois-Springfield’s Lester Har, Indianapolis’ Darius Adams, Kentucky Wesleyan’s Anthony Young, Lewis’ Matt Toth, Maryville’s Darrin Young, Missouri-St. Louis’ Ryan Lawrence, Northern Kentucky’s Bobby Shannon, Rockhurst’s Blake Baird and Southern Indiana’s Brandon Hogg.
