INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Lewis University’s Mary Moskal (Cherry Valley, Ill.) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week. The senior guard led the Flyers to key conference victories over Southern Indiana and Kentucky Wesleyan last week.
In Lewis’ 92-72 win over Southern Indiana on Jan. 25, Moskal connected on 11-of-13 attempts from the field and finished with a game-high 27 points. She was 2-for-2 from three-point range and was 3-for-5 from the free throw line. Moskal also delivered 12 rebounds, four assists and two steals in the win marking her fifth double-double of the season.
Moskal posted 26 points in the Flyers’ 80-76 win over Kentucky Wesleyan on Jan. 27. She was 2-for-2 from the three-point line and 6-for-6 from the free throw line in the contest. She also collected six rebounds and three assists.
For the week, Moskal averaged 26.5 points, nine rebounds and 3.5 assists per game. She is averaging 18.3 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists on the year and has helped Lewis to a school-record 11-game winning streak.
The Flyers are 17-2 overall and 10-1 in the GLVC East Division.
