Northern Kentucky University sophomore shortstop Brad Clement (Brunswick, Ohio/St. Ignatius) are the Great Lakes Valley Conference Baseball Player of the Week.
Clement helped the Norse go 2-1 on their road trip to Ouachita Baptist by hitting .636 with seven RBIs. He opened the series by going 4-for-5 and was a home run shy of the cycle. Clement posted five RBIs in the win and had a double and triple for a 1.400 slugging percentage.
He was 1-for-2 in Northern Kentucky’s 6-4 win in the second game on Saturday and finished the series with a 2-for-4 effort with two RBIs in a 6-4 loss on Sunday.
On the season, Clement is hitting .600 with a team-high 11 RBIs.
Northern Kentucky (4-2), ranked 25th in the latest Collegiate Baseball poll, will return to action this weekend at Southern Arkansas.
Other top performers in the GLVC last week included Drury’s Maury Wilmes , Lewis’ Brian Norwood, Missouri-St. Louis’ Drew Standefer and Missouri S&T’s Ben Pieper.
