Lewis University senior pitcher Diana Pickrum (Oak Forest, Ill./Oak Forest) has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Softball Pitcher.

Pickrum guided the No. 24 ranked Flyers to three wins last week at the Rebel Spring Games. She was 3-0 with a 0.31 earned run average in wins over Saint Leo, Warner and No. 20 Ashland.

Pickrum opened the week with a 3-1 win over St. Leo on Wednesday. She went the distance and allowed just one earned run on five hits.

In the Flyers’ 3-2 extra-inning win over Warner on Thursday, Pickrum pitched eight innings and earned the complete-game victory by surrendering just four hits and not allowing an earned run.

She completed the week by scattering seven hits and striking out three in Lewis’ 2-1 win over Ashland on Sunday.

Lewis (9-4) will face California (Pa.) and Ferris State today (Mar. 7) to complete their trip to Kissimmee, Fla. 

Other top performers in the GLVC last week included Northern Kentucky’s April Ehlers.
