University of Indianapolis senior shortstop Kaleb Cunningham (Knaps Station, NY/Stockton) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Baseball Player of the Week.
Cunningham helped the Greyhounds stay unbeaten on the season by guiding them to a 4-0 record on the week. In the four contests, Cunningham hit .750 with a .778 on-base percentage and seven runs scored.
In UIndy’s 6-2 win over Wayne State on Monday, Cunningham was 2-for-3 with a run scored and RBI.
He opened Saturday’s doubleheader with visiting Hillsdale by going 5-for-5 with four runs scored, five RBIs and a pair of doubles. In UIndy’s 7-1 win in the nightcap, Cunningham was 3-for-4 with a double and run scored.
On Sunday, in the series finale, Cunningham went 2-for-4 with a run scored, RBI and two stolen bases to lift the Greyhounds to an 8-5 victory.
On the year, Cunningham is hitting .636 with 10 RBIs, seven runs scored and four doubles.
UIndy (6-0) will face Arkansas-Monticello and Arkansas Tech this week before opening league competition against visiting Maryville and Missouri-St. Louis this weekend.
