Lewis University junior outfielder Mike Bolling (Chicago, Ill./Guerin Prep) isthe Great Lakes Valley Conference Baseball Player of the Week.
Bolling led the Flyers to a 4-0 record against GLVC East Division competition last week. He batted .529 with seven runs, seven stolen bases, three runs batted in and two doubles. He sported a .579 on-base percentage and .647 slugging percentage.
In Lewis’ sweep of UW-Parkside on Wednesday, Bolling combined to go 6-for-10 with three runs and two RBIs. He was 2-for-4 with two runs and four stolen bases in the Flyers’ 8-2 win in the opener and went 4-for-4 with a run, two RBIs and two doubles in the 14-2 win in the second game.
On Sunday, Bolling went 3-for-6 with three runs, three stolen bases and an RBI as Lewis won at Saint Joseph’s, 16-3. He was also a key in the Flyers’ 2-1 win over the Pumas in the nightcap as he walked and scored the game-tying run.
This season, Bolling is batting .354 with 26 runs, nine RBIs and leads the GLVC with 23 stolen bases.
Lewis (17-8) has won seven of its last eight contests and is now in second place in the GLVC East Division at 10-4. The Flyers will return to action at home for a four-game series with division-leading Southern Indiana this weekend.
