Lewis University senior first baseman Stephanie Harmon (Joliet, Ill./Joliet) have been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Softball Player of the Week.
Harmon guided the Flyers to a pair of doubleheader sweeps in league play last week. She hit .500, going 6-for-12 with five RBIs, three runs scored, two doubles and two home runs. Harmon finished the week with a 1.167 slugging percentage.
In the opener with UW-Parkside on Wednesday, Harmon was 2-for-3 with a home run, two runs and two RBIs as Lewis posted a 12-0 decision. In the Flyers’ 2-1 win in the nightcap, Harmon was 1-for-3 with a double and drove in both Lewis runs.
On Sunday, Harmon was 1-for-3 in Lewis’ 5-3 win over Southern Indiana in the day’s first game and went 2-for-3 with a double, home run, run scored and RBI in the second game, a 4-0 Lewis victory.
This season, Harmon is batting .333 with a team-best five home runs and 21 RBIs. She is hitting .333 with four home runs and 12 RBIs against conference opponents.
Lewis (28-7) is leading the league with a 17-1 conference record. The Flyers will next host Indianapolis on Friday.
Other top performers in the GLVC last week included Drury’s Andi Anti, Indianapolis’ Jamie Keltz, Missouri-St. Louis’ Jacee Ellis, Northern Kentucky’s Ashley Gates, Quincy’s Erin Gregory, Rockhurst’s Amanda Burger and Southern Indiana’s Dani Finkelstein.
