INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Southern Illinois University Edwardsville’s Kyle Rose (Kankakee, Ill.) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Male Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week. The junior sprinter broke his own school record in the 400-meter dash at the Indiana Relays on Feb. 3.
 
Rose posted a time of 47.95 to finish in fourth place at the invitational. His time in the 400-meter dash is the eighth fastest among NCAA Division II athletes this indoor season.
 
In the 200-meter dash at the Indiana Relays, Rose placed fifth with a time of 21.91. He also ran a leg on the 4x400-meter relay team which finished third in a time of 3:16.40.
 
Rose currently holds the fastest 200-meter dash and 400-meter dash times in the GLVC this year.

Other top performers in GLVC last week included Bellarmine’s Justin Smith, Lewis’ Mike Eck, Indianapolis’ Adam Campagna, Missouri-Rolla’s Jarryd Dean and Southern Indiana’s Tristan Mannix.
