DeMotte led the Greyhounds to a sweep over No. 18 Lewis on Thursday by performing well in the circle and at the plate.

She hit .571 during the two contests by going 4-for-7 and finished with three runs and six RBIs. DeMotte belted a home run in each game, including a three-run blast in the first game to give the Greyhounds a 4-0 lead and a three-run shot in the Greyhounds’ five-run fifth inning in game two.

DeMotte is hitting a team-best .397 on the season with 28 RBIs, 26 runs scored, seven doubles and three home runs.

The 21st-ranked Greyhounds (29-10-1) are 12-6 in the GLVC and will close the regular season with home games against UW-Parkside and Saint Joseph’s this weekend.

Other top performers in the GLVC last week included Drury’s Shawna Barrow, Kentucky Wesleyan’s Jackie Porter, Maryville’s Shelby Steinkamp, Quincy’s Cristina Hughes, Rockhurst’s Debbie Lewis and UW-Parkside’s Kirsten Luevano.
