Northern Kentucky University senior middle hitter Kim Nemcek (Geneva, Ill./Geneva) is the Baden/Great Lakes Valley Conference Volleyball Player of the Week. Nemcek paced the Norse to a 4-0 record at the UIndy Invitational over the weekend.

For the week, Nemcek attacked at a .521 clip and averaged 3.83 kills per set. She also chipped in 2.33 digs per set and tallied four blocks, an assist and service ace.

On Saturday, Nemcek notched nine kills and seven digs in NKU’s sweep of Ashland. She returned in the second match of the day to help the Norse knock off No. 19 West Florida, 3-0, as she delivered seven kills and six digs.

Nemcek returned on Sunday to guide the Norse to a 3-0 win over Florida Tech with 19 kills, nine digs and a .630 hitting percentage.

She finished the impressive weekend by netting 11 kills, six digs and posting a .769 hitting percentage in NKU’s 3-0 win over Saginaw Valley State.  

For her efforts, Nemcek was one of three NKU players named to the UIndy Invitational All-Tournament Team.

NKU (4-0) will host Charleston on Tuesday before entering conference play against Saint Joseph’s and Indianapolis this weekend.

Other top performers in the GLVC last week included Bellarmine’s Bailey BredenbeckCorp, Drury’s Alex Smith, Indianapolis’ Kristina Hefferan, Lewis’ Colleen Mitros, Missouri-St. Louis’ Anna McNulty, Quincy’s Taylor Jacobs, Rockhurst’s Maggie McGovern, Saint Joseph’s Sharon Freund and Southern Indiana’s Danielle LaGrange.
