Missouri S&T junior back Spencer Brinkmeyer (Kansas City, Mo./Oak Park) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Soccer Player of the Week. Brinkmeyer helped the No. 13 Miners to a pair of victories at the Quincy Soccer Bowl over the weekend.

On Saturday, Brinkmeyer assisted the S&T defense limit No. 15 Truman State to just five shots on goal in a 2-0 victory.

He returned on Sunday to score both goals in the Miners’ 2-1 win over Lindenwood.

Brinkmeyer scored the first goal of the match as he headed in a Ryan Muich free kick in the 24th minute. He later added the game-winning tally in the 68th minute by scoring off a rebound.

Missouri S&T (2-0), co-regular season GLVC Champions a year ago, will travel to Rockhurst on Friday before returning home to face William Jewell in league play on Sunday.
