INDIANAPOLIS – Wisconsin-Parkside sophomore Evan Lewandowski (Medford, WI) was voted as the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week. Lewandowski led the Rangers to a first place finish at the Wisconsin-Parkside Midwest Open on Saturday.

Lewandowski finished 3rd overall out of a pool of 140 runners and completed the 8k race with a time of 25:59.1. This time was a personal best.
Lewandowski’s time helped lead the Rangers to a 1st place team finish and an entry into the UW-Parkside record books. This victory marks the first time in school history that the Rangers have won the event.  The team posted 60 total team points at the meet. The Rangers will be back in action again on September 24 at the Roy Griak Invitational in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Other top performers in the GLVC last week included Saint Joseph’s Logan Barrett, Bellarmine’s Alex Jones, Northern Kentucky’s JJ Webber, and Quincy’s Kekoura Sakouvogui.
