Missouri S&T senior outside hitter Erin Bekebrede (St. Charles, Mo./St. Charles) is the Baden/Great Lakes Valley Conference Volleyball Player of the Week. Bekebrede guided the Miners to four wins on the week, including three road wins in conference play.

On Tuesday, Bekebrede posted a double-double with 13 kills and 13 digs as S&T defeated host Drury in five sets. She also added a pair of assists, a service ace and two blocks.

Bekebrede returned on Friday to post 16 kills, 18 digs, three service aces and two blocks as S&T beat host Rockhurst for the first time in program history. In the final two sets, Bekebrede had nine kills and 10 digs, including the final two kills in the deciding set that S&T captured 20-18.

On Sunday, S&T defeated William Jewell in three sets as Bekebrede tallied 11 kills, six digs and five service aces. The Miners also picked up a win over Pittsburg State in four sets with Bekebrede recording a career-high 25 kills to go with 14 digs, four service aces and a .413 hitting percentage.

For the week, Bekebrede averaged 4.76 points, 3.82 kills and 3.00 digs per set. She also posted a .225 hitting percentage and tallied 13 service aces, four assists and four blocks.

S&T (8-3) moved to 5-0 in the GLVC with the victories and sits alone atop the GLVC West Division standings. The Miners will host Maryville and Missouri-St. Louis this weekend.

Other top performers in the GLVC last week included Indianapolis’ Meghan Binkerd, Missouri-St. Louis’ Chelsea Burkle, Northern Kentucky’s Kim Nemcek, Rockhurst’s Maggie McGovern and UW-Parkside’s Stacie Bower.
