Missouri S&T junior midfielder Kyle Schraier (St. Louis, Mo./Christian Brothers College) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Soccer Player of the Week. Schraier posted the game-winner in two GLVC matches last week, including the winning score against top-ranked Northern Kentucky on Sunday.

In S&T’s 2-0 win over visiting Bellarmine on Friday, Schraier tallied a goal at the 9:47 mark of the first half on assists from Jervis Atagana and Taylor Arens.

Schraier provided the difference in S&T’s win over Northern Kentucky on Sunday as he put home the game-winner in the 69th minute on an assist from Brian Seawright. The win snapped the Miners’ eight-game losing streak to the Norse and helped them earn their first win over NKU since 2006.

With the goal, Schraier now shares the team lead with four on the season. He is tied for the league lead with three game-winning goals this year.

S&T (7-1, 5-1 GLVC), ranked 17th in last week’s national rankings, moved into a three-way tie for first place in the GLVC with the wins. The Miners will head to Maryville and Missouri-St. Louis this weekend.

Other top performers in the GLVC last week included Indianapolis’ Tom McGuire, Lewis’ Cristhian Ramirez, Maryville’s Kory Dowell and Rockhurst’s Mark Magee.
