INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis’ Alex Pepin (Kirkwood, Mo.) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Softball Player of the Week. The senior outfielder guided the Riverwomen to a pair of wins in Florence, Alabama over the weekend.
Missouri-St. Louis dropped a doubleheader to host North Alabama on Feb. 9, 11-1 and 9-0, as Pepin finished 1-for-5 with a double.
She and the Riverwomen returned on Feb. 10 to sweep Arkansas Tech, 6-3 and 13-12. Pepin finished the day 6-for-10 with two triples and a double.
In the Riverwomen’s 6-3 win, Pepin was 1-for-4 with two runs batted in. In the second game of the doubleheader, Pepin finished 5-for-6 with two triples, a double and two runs batted in.
For the week, Pepin posted a .467 batting average, a .867 slugging percentage, four RBI, one run, two triples and two doubles.
Missouri-St. Louis (2-2) will return to the diamond on Feb. 16 in Carollton, Georgia.
Other top performers in the GLVC last week included Northern Kentucky’s Jenny Weis.
