Northern Kentucky University senior defender Anthony Meyer (Cincinnati, Ohio/Elder) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Soccer Player of the Week. Meyer led No. 7 Northern Kentucky to a pair of road wins in GLVC action last week.
In Northern Kentucky’s 1-0 win at Quincy on Friday, Meyer converted a pass from Mohammad Salhieh in the 82nd minute to break a scoreless tie. The game-winner pushed the Norse into a tie for first place in the league standings.
Northern Kentucky grabbed the league lead outright on Sunday with a 2-1 come-from-behind victory at UIS. Meyer assisted on Michael Bartlett’s game-winner in the 77th minute to provide the difference.

He has two goals and three assists this season and has helped Northern Kentucky outscore its opponents 37-8 on the year.
The Norse (12-2) moved to 10-2 in the GLVC and are first in the league standings. They will next host Maryville and Missouri-St. Louis this weekend.
Other top performers in the GLVC last week included Bellarmine’s Connor Brehm, Drury’s Stephen Conner, Lewis’ Cristhian Ramirez, Maryville’s Leo Bassi-Rodriguez, Missouri-St. Louis’ Peter Hyde and Rockhurst’s Mark Magee.
