Drury University freshman forward Emily Cline (Springfield, Mo./Glendale)  is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women’s Soccer Player of the Week. Cline guided the Panthers to a pair of road wins against GLVC competition last week.

She opened the weekend by setting a new school record for points in a game by securing nine in a 7-0 blanking of host Saint Joseph’s. Cline tied a school record with four goals in the match and added an assist.

She accounted for the first three goals of the match, all coming within six minutes of the first half. Cine scored from 30 yards out in the 21st minute unassisted, added a second goal off a cross from Kara Steiner in the 23rd minute and posted another goal in the 27th minute off her own rebound.

Cline assisted on Ashton Allcorn’s second half goal and completed the scoring in the 84th minute with her fourth goal of the match.

On Sunday, in a 1-0 win at Indianapolis, Cline assisted on Lindsey Sprouse’s game-winner with less than three minutes to play in regulation. 

Cline is second on the Panthers with 18 points this season. She has six goals and six assists on the year.

Drury (7-7-1) has won three straight matches and moved to 4-7-1 in the GLVC. The Panthers will host Wisconsin-Parkside and Lewis this weekend.

Other top performers in the GLVC last week included Indianapolis’ Nicole Duncan, Misosuri-St. Louis’ Kelly Muesenfechter, Northern Kentucky’s Allison Ponzer and Rockhurst’s Taylor Skala.
