Kentucky Wesleyan College’s Anthony Young (Indianapolis, Ind./Arsenal Tech/Kankakee CC) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week. Young, a 6-7 forward, exploded for a career-high 44 points in a win over Asbury on Saturday.

In the 125-67 win, Young tallied 30 first half points and finished the game 12-for-18 (.667) from the field. He knocked down 4-of-5 (.800) three-point attempts on the afternoon and also collected a career-high 14 rebounds in 25 minutes of work.

Additionally, he was a perfect 16-for-16 from the free throw line and chipped in a pair of assists and a steal.

Kentucky Wesleyan (1-0) will next face Hiwassee at home on Tuesday.
