INDIANAPOLIS – UW-Parkside senior guard Jadee Rooney (Markisan, Wis./Markesan) has been tabbed the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week. Rooney led the way for the Rangers as they tallied three wins at home on the week.

Rooney averaged 15.7 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game in UW-Parkside’s wins against Trinity International, Upper Iowa, and Regional opponent Grand Valley State.
On Tuesday’s 75-58 win over Trinity International, Rooney posted 18 points along with eight assists, three rebounds and two steals. She netted 40 percent of her attempts from the field (6-15) and knocked down 4-of-6 free throw attempts (66.7%).
Rooney returned Saturday to lead the Rangers to a 13 point victory over Grand Valley State. Rooney banked 25 points for the Rangers in the second half. She also recorded six rebounds and five assists. Rooney went 6-for-7 at the free throw line and shot 57.1 percent from the field (8-14).
On Sunday’s blowout against Upper Iowa, Rooney shot 33.3 percent from the field while also tallying two assists and one steal. 
The UW-Parkside Rangers (5-1) will open their conference schedule at home against Kentucky Wesleyan on December 1.
Other top performers in the GLVC last week included Missouri-St. Louis’ Devonna Smith, Southern Indiana’s Anna Hackert, Drury’s Bethanie Funderburk, Missouri S&T’s Hailee Parks, Lewis’ Labrenthia Murdock, and Indianapolis’ Kristin Turner.
