INDIANAPOLIS – Lewis sophomore Zsofia Kranczicki (Eger, Hungary/Szilagyi Erzsebet Gimnazium es Kollegium) has been selected as the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women’s Tennis Player of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday.

Kranczicki, ranked 19th in the nation, captured two singles victories at the No. 2 position last week and helped the Flyers extend their winning streak to six matches. On Saturday, she earned a 6-0, 6-1 win over Nebraska-Kearney’s Heather Connolly, who was rated 16th in the Central Region, and then defeated Ohio Dominican’s Aline Mariano on Sunday, 6-0, 6-2.
In doubles competition, Kranczicki earned two wins at the No. 1 spot, including an 8-3 victory over Nebraska-Kearney’s Connolly and Vanessa Gunawan. She closed out the week against Ohio Dominican with an 8-2 result over Mariano and Anita Girizd.
Other top performers in the GLVC last week included Drury’s Beatriz Juan, Illinois Springfield’s Brooke Tweedy, and Northern Kentucky’s Jillian Sturgeon.
