INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Southern Illinois University Edwardsville’s Courtney Mall (Tucson, Ariz.) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Softball Player of the Week. The sophomore outfielder finished with a slugging percentage of .909 at the West Georgia Invitational over the weekend.

In five games, Mall hit .455 with six runs scored, three runs batted in, four walks, two doubles and her first career home run.

Mall collected a hit in each of the first four games, including a 2-for-3 effort in SIU Edwardsville’s 10-0 win over Delta State on Feb. 16. She had a double, a stolen base and two RBI in the win.

In the Cougars’ 6-3 loss to No. 14 Columbus State on Feb. 17, Mall was 1-for-3 with a home run. She posted one of her six runs and three RBI on the week.

Against host West Georgia on Feb. 17, an 11-3 win for the Cougars, Mall scored three times on three walks.

SIU Edwardsville, 3-2 overall, will return to action on Feb. 24-25 at home for the Cougar Classic.
