INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The University of Indianapolis’ Andrea Horban (Elkhart, Ind.) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Female Track and Field Athlete of the Week. The sophomore posted a strong performance at the Hoosier Hills Invitational hosted by Indiana University on Feb. 16.

Horban won the shot put with a mark of 14.45 meters. The throw helped her improve on her NCAA D-II provisional qualifying mark.

She has been the GLVC’s top shot putter during this indoor season and is ranked among the top five throwers in NCAA D-II.

Horban capped her efforts at the Hoosier Hills Invitational by placing fourth in the weight throw. She posted a mark of 15.52 meters.

Other top performers in the GLVC last week included Bellarmine’s Kristen Geiger, Lewis’ Millennium Wheeler, SIU Edwardsville’s Juliet Alrich, Southern Indiana’s Kathy Goebel and UW-Parkside’s Melissa Nilles.
