INDIANAPOLIS – The Great Lakes Valley Conference has named Bellarmine junior Bryan Ratterman (Louisville, Ky./St. Xavier) as the GLVC Golfer of the Month for March, it was announced Thursday. Ratterman, who completed three events last month a combined 4-under-par with an average of 71.33, earned the conference recognition following a vote from the league’s men’s golf coaches.
Opening the month’s action at the Northern Kentucky Spring Classic on March 17-18, Ratterman used a 4-under-par 68 and an even-par round of 72 to tie for third individually at 140. He helped the Knights to a tie for second place in the 10-team field at 571 (287-284).
The following week, Ratterman took to the Otter Creek Golf Course in Columbus, Ind., for the UW-Parkside Spring Invitational – an event in which he placed tied for 19th with a 1-over-par 145 (73-72). His efforts put him second on the team and gave the Knights a third-place finish amongst 12 other teams.
In his final tournament of the month, The Jewell, Ratterman tied for fourth with two other conference standouts at 143. Ratterman posted a 3-under 69 to open the event and followed with a 2-over 74 in the loaded 25-team regional field that contained a total of 12 conference squads. BU placed fifth in the tournament as a team.
Other top performers during the month of March included Lewis’ Brandon White, Missouri-St. Louis’ Joe Atkisson, Northern Kentucky’s Michael Schmidt, Quincy’s Patrick Higgins, and Wisconsin-Parkside’s Jake Wisniewski.
