INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Saint Joseph’s College’s Ronald Coleman (South Holland, Ill.) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week. The junior guard helped the Pumas secure the No. 2 seed in the GLVC East Division for the upcoming GLVC Tournament.
Coleman averaged 24.7 points, 6.7 rebounds and 3.3 steals in three wins last week. He shot 62.2 percent from the field and 54.5 percent from behind the three-point line.
He posted 22 points, seven rebounds and two steals in Saint Joseph’s 82-56 win at UIndy on Feb. 19. Coleman was 8-for-12 (.667) from the field and 2-for-2 from the three-point line.
Coleman returned in the Pumas’ 69-65 win against visiting Northern Kentucky on Feb. 22 to net a career-high 28 points. He grabbed a team-high seven rebounds and scored the final five points to secure the win against the Norse.
In Saint Joseph’s 81-74 win against visiting Bellarmine on Feb. 24, Coleman scored 24 points, pulled down five rebounds and collected a career-high seven steals.
On the year, Coleman is averaging 17.6 points and 6.9 rebounds per game. Saint Joseph’s improved to 11-8 in conference play and to 16-11 overall with the wins. The Pumas will face Quincy in the quarterfinals of the GLVC Tournament on March 1.
Other top performers in the GLVC last week included Drury’s Collins Harris, Kentucky Wesleyan’s Rodney Edgerson, Quincy’s Joel Box, Rockhurst’s John Torson and SIU Edwardsville’s J.B. Jones.
