INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Rockhurst University’s Heather Robertson (Creal Springs, Ill.) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week. The sophomore helped the Hawks capture two wins at the Evangel Early Bird Tournament in Springfield, Missouri over the weekend.
Robertson collected both wins for the Hawks in the circle last week. She tossed two complete games including a shutout in the Hawks’ 8-0 win over Southwest Baptist. Against SBU, Robertson pitched five innings, allowed four hits and struck out five.
She picked up a win in Rockhurst’s 3-1 win over Oklahoma Baptist by pitching a four-hit complete game. She allowed one earned run and struck out seven. She did not allow a walk in either contest.
She is now 2-0 on the year with a 0.58 earned run average, 12 strikeouts, no walks and an opponent’s batting average of .170.
Rockhurst (2-1) will travel to Springfield on March 2-3 for the Show Me Games.
Other top performances in the GLVC last week included Missouri-Rolla’s Nicole Naughton, Missouri-St. Louis’ Alex Pepin and Casey Moran (pitcher), Northern Kentucky’s Rose Broderick and UW-Parkside’s Alea McNellis.
