INDIANAPOLIS – Bellarmine University senior Angela Musk has once again been voted by the league coaches as the Great Lakes Valley Conference Runner of the Week, it was announced today.  Musk earned her second consecutive title this past week by picking up the UW-Parkside Midwest Open crown in a personal best 5,000-meter time of 17:49.4.

The New Hope, Ky., native’s time is the top 5K mark in the GLVC this season, while her winning time of 14:28 at the season-opening Southern Indiana Stegemoller Classic is the conference’s top time over a 4K course.

At the Midwest Open, Musk helped Bellarmine to a fourth-place result in the 17-team field, registering 93 points in the event.

The weekly honor is Musk’s second-straight award and third of her career, as she was also honored on Sept. 20, 2011.  She is also the first GLVC runner to earn back-to-back weekly awards since UW-Parkside’s Hope Christie was honored on Sept. 28 and Oct. 5 during the 2010 season.

The Knights next competition comes on Friday, Sept. 14 at the 34th Annual National Catholic Invitational at Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind.
