Quincy University senior Brittany Casey has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference women’s soccer Player of the Week, it was announced by the league office on Monday. Casey led the No. 19 Lady Hawks to a pair of road wins last week, including a 2-1 upset over No. 13 Bellarmine.
On the week, the St. Louis, Mo., native scored two goals on four shots, two of which were on goal. In fact, Casey was credited with the game-winning goal in the upset victory over the Knights as well as the 2-0 blanking of McKendree on Sunday.
She currently leads the team in goals (5) and is second in points (11), while tying for second in the conference in goals and third in goals per game.
The honor is Casey’s first of her career and she is the second Lady Hawk in as many weeks to be honored by the conference. Jaclyn Mastroianni was named Player of the Week one week ago.
