Hall of Fame
Kandi (Wieberg) Spraggs played just three softball seasons in the GLVC, but made quite the impact on the diamond and in the classroom. The Lady Miner second baseman was named to the All-America team in 2007 by the NFCA and Daktronics, was a two-time first-team Daktronics All-Midwest Region performer, and twice was named to the All-GLVC first team at her position. In 2007, she was named GLVC Player of the Year, having finished second in the conference in hitting with a .402 average and a league-high .751 slugging percentage. She also finished among the top five in the GLVC in on-base percentage, runs scored, hits, home runs, runs batted in and total bases, while helping lead S&T to its first-ever appearance at the NCAA Division II Softball Championships. In her three seasons in the GLVC, Wieberg recorded a batting average of .362 with 164 hits, 36 doubles, 10 triples, 27 home runs and 83 runs batted in. Off the field, she was selected in 2007 as the GLVC’s Scholar-Athlete of the Year for softball and was a two-time Academic All-American in 2007 and 2008. Wieberg, a three-time member of the GLVC’s All-Academic squad, was also a member of Missouri S&T’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
