Hall of Fame
Jon Mark Hall was named the GLVC Coach of the Year a record five times, and directed the Screaming Eagles to four GLVC Men's Tennis Championship Tournament crowns and to a 123-47 record (.724) from 1996-2002. Despite the GLVC not recognizing regular-season titles until 2010-11, Hall's Eagles finished atop the conference standings in 1998, 1999, 2000 and 2002. During his final season as head coach, Hall led the Eagles to their third-straight appearance in the NCAA Division II Tournament and their first victory in the postseason. In 2000 and 2001, Hall put USI on the national map with its first two invitations to the NCAA DII Tournament in the 27-year history of the program. During his tenure, Hall's squad set the school record for most consecutive conference wins with 34. Under his direction, he mentored a two-time GLVC Player of the Year in Edgar Linares, 1998 GLVC Freshman of the Year Andrew Majxner, and 19 All-GLVC selections, including four-time honorees Majxner and Linares. In addition, one other USI standout learned under Hall's tutelage: Chris Crawford, two-time GLVC Coach of the Year, was a standout on the USI men's tennis team during his four seasons as an Eagle. He still holds the USI single-season record for most combined wins in a season (28 singles/24 doubles in 2001), had 123 career victories (58 singles and 75 doubles), and was named All-GLVC in 2002, all under Hall's watch. He was a member of the USI squads that won four straight GLVC championships (1999-2002) and made three NCAA DII Tournament appearances (2000-02).
