Amber Antonia was a dominant force on the cross country and indoor and outdoor track & field teams for UW-Parkside during her tenure from 1998-2003. She was a four-time All-GLVC selection in cross country and won three GLVC Championships in both sports. While competing on the cross country team, Antonia recorded four top-10 finishes, including winning the meet in 2000 and finishing runner-up in 2001, both performers that helped the Rangers win back-to-back Conference titles. In 1998 she was the GLVC Freshman of the Year after a seventh-place finish at the Championship, and two years later she earned GLVC Cross Country Athlete of the Year recognition. Additionally, she was a four-time Academic All-GLVC team member and a two-time NCAA All-American, placing 12th in 2000 and 29th in 2001 in the national meet. As an indoor track and field runner, Antonia became champion in the 5,000-meters with a then-league record time. In both 2001 and 2002, she was the NAIA National 3,000-meter race walk Champion and still holds the UWP school record (13:27.46); moreover, she won in 2002 during the outdoor season, too. Also during her outdoor running season, she won the same race walk in 2003, finished runner-up in the 5,000-meters twice (2001, 2002) and was the third finisher twice as well for the 10,000-meters (2000, 2002). Other school records include 4x1,500-meter relay and the 1,500-, 3,000-, 5,000-, 10,000- and 20,000-meter race walk events. After graduating from UWP, Antonia competed as a race walker in the Pan American Games, World Cup Trials and Olympic Trials, and was inducted into the Parkside Hall of Fame in 2014. These days, she works as the owner of Wild Workouts and Wellness in Milwaukee, Wis.
