Dottie (Porch) Hampton was a two-sport athlete at IPFW in both women's basketball and volleyball, but she really excelled in the latter. Hampton originally came to IPFW for basketball and played three years, but she followed that with a tremendous four-year volleyball career. She was a three-time All-GLVC first-team honoree, leading the Mastodons to two GLVC Volleyball Championships in 1994 and 1996. In 1997, Hampton was named the GLVC Player of the Year as well as being tabbed an American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) DII All-American. She was also named to the All-Great Lakes Region in 1996-97. A two-time IPFW Female Athlete of the Year, Hampton averaged 6.1 points and 5.1 rebounds a game as a basketball player. Following graduation in 1998, she played four years of professional volleyball in Europe. During two of those years, she was named Player of the Game in the European Cup Tournament. Hampton currently is the assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at the University of South Carolina, a stint she began in 2014. Prior to her arrival at USC, she started her collegiate coaching career as an assistant at Indiana (2005-06), and was also an assistant at George Mason (2007-11), Pittsburgh (2011-12) and Butler (2013), while the head coach at Niagara for one season (2012).
