Hall of Fame
The GLVC’s first and only individual national champion in the sport of women’s golf, Lyndsay McBride left a lasting mark at UIndy from 2007-10. McBride collected an impressive number of accolades, both on and off the course, including three All-GLVC nods and two GLVC Women’s Golf Scholar Athlete of the Year recognitions. Her biggest moment on the links came at the end of her junior season when she captured the 2009 NCAA Division II individual national championship, which subsequently earned her All-America First Team honors. The effort also helped lift the Greyhounds to a share of third place on the team leaderboard, good for the school’s highest national finish to that point. A year later, McBride went on to set UIndy’s single-season record for lowest scoring average (76.0) and winning percentage (.918) on the way to winning GLVC Player of the Year laurels and a second straight All-America classification. She racked up nine top-five finishes and three individual wins in just 14 events while leading the Hounds to a second conference crown and second NCAA Championship appearance in as many years. McBride was also named one of nine finalists, including only three Division II student-athletes, for the 2010 NCAA Women of the Year.
