KWC Tops Western Washington in Disney West Coast Tip-Off

ANAHEIM, Calif. - The Kentucky Wesleyan men's basketball team rebounded from Friday's season-opening loss to San Francisco State by posting a 71-58 victory over Western Washington on Saturday at Disney's West Coast Tip-Off Classic. Four Panthers reached double-figures on the evening, including Travis Owsley and Shawn Rouse who posted 11 and 12 points off the bench, respectively.

Desmond Stephens led the Panthers on the evening with a game-high 13 points. Chris Williams added 11 points and Jay Ivey recorded eight points and grabbed 10 rebounds.

KWC (1-1) opened up a 32-22 halftime lead by limiting Western Washington to just 36 percent shooting from field. The Panthers held its opponent to 38.9 percent shooting for the game and forced them into 19 turnovers.

KWC will conclude its three-game run at Disney's West Coast Tip-Off Classic on Sunday against Grand Canyon.
