Lewis Advances in NCAA Men's Soccer Regional

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Third-seeded Lewis scored two goals in the final eight minutes of play to knock off second-seeded Ashland 2-1 Friday in the NCAA-II Super Region IV first-round men’s college soccer match at Harrison Stadium. 

The Flyers (14-3-2) move into the regional final against Friday night’s Drury-Northern Kentucky winner at 1 p.m. Sunday at Harrison.
 
Ashland (12-3-6) struck first with a goal from James Livingston from 35 yards out just eight seconds before halftime for the 1-0 lead at the break.
 
It stayed that way until Jose Ibarra scored an unassisted goal from 30 yards away at 84:44 to tie it at 1-1 and force the overtime.
 
The Flyers ended it when Nestor Hernandez scored his 13th goal of the season, from a Charlie Bucio assist, just 2:53 into the extra period.
 
Lewis outshot the Eagles 14-7 in the contest.
