ASHLAND, Ohio- The Northern Kentucky University men's soccer team was staunch in its defense, but also failed to find the net as the Norse played Ashland to a scoreless draw Thursday.
NKU took 12 shots on the evening, with five of those coming off the boot of Braden Bishop, while Ashland managed 15 attempts. The disparity in the contest came in the fouls called, as NKU was whistled for 25 infractions to Ashland's 12.
Goalkeeper Michael Lavric kept a clean sheet on the night, making two saves to extend his school-record shutout total to 18.
The result was a reprisal of last season's regular-season meeting between the teams, which ended in a 1-1 draw at Ashland.
NKU is now 6-0-1 on the season and has played three overtime games this season. The Norse have been unable to find victory in their last four trips to Ashland.
