Bellarmine Paces GLVC Teams at NCAA DII Preview

CARMEL, Ind. - The Bellarmine men's golf team fought blustery conditions to finish second overall at the Ken Partridge UIndy Intercollegiate/NCAA DII Preview held at the Sagamore Club, site of the 2010 NCAA DII Men's National Golf Championship.

The Knights posted a two-day total of 622 to finish 12 strokes behind Central Missouri, the top-finishing team at the 18-team event.

After shooting an 82 on Monday, senior Doug Wilkinson returned on Tuesday to fire a 71 and pace the Knights. He finished tied for sixth overall with a score of 153. Teammate Eric Meier also posted a top-ten finish, tying for tenth place with a two-day score of 155.

Host Indianapolis finished third in the team standings and were led by Seth Fair. The junior finished tied for third with a score of 76-74=150.

UW-Parkside placed ninth, Northern Kentucky finished 11th, Lewis placed 12th and Missouri-St. Louis rounded out the GLVC contingent in 15th place.

Lewis' Casey Pyne was the top finishing GLVC individual, finishing in second place overall. Pyne finished with a 76-73=149.
