UIndy Ranked Fifth in NFCA Preseason Poll
STARKVILLE, Miss. - After capturing the school's first Midwest Region and Super Regional titles in 2009, the University of Indianapolis softball team has been picked fifth in the NFCA Division II Top 25 Preseason Poll.
The Greyhounds posted a 37-21 record in 2009 and went 1-2 at the NCAA Division II World Series in Salem, Virginia. UIndy finished the 2009 season ranked 10th in the final poll.
UIndy has also been selected to finish first in the GLVC Preseson Poll.
Lewis University was also recognized in the poll as one of several teams to also receive votes.
The NFCA Division II Top 25 is voted on by 16 NCAA Division II head coaches, two representing each of the eight NCAA regions. Final 2009 records are shown. First-place votes are in parentheses.
The first 2010 regular season poll will be released on Wednesday, March 3.
