Quincy 1 - Truman State 1 (2OT)
Kirksville, Mo.-The Quincy University men's soccer team continued their impressive road play this season picking up a 1-1 tie on the road against Truman State University. With the tie Quincy is now 7-1-1 on the road this season.
The only goals of the game came just seconds apart, mid-way through the first-half. Quincy got on the board first with a goal from Jack Wedemeier at the 23:12 mark on the clock, scoring off a cross from Michael Andres.
Truman State, who had jumped up to #14 in the national polls this week, scored the equalizer just 21-seconds later when Dan Meagher scored on a pass from Bobby Larkin. Neither team was able to find the back of the net again despite a combined 40 shots in the game.
Quincy out shot the Bulldogs 9-5 in the first-half but had to withstand a barrage of shots in the second-half as Truman State got off 15 shots to Quincy's five. However the Hawk defense kept the Bulldogs at arm's length, allowing just eight of their 26 shots in the game on goal.
Quincy is now 9-5-1 overall this season and will conclude their regular season this weekend with a pair of Great Lakes Valley Conference games. The Hawks will host Illinois-Springfield on Friday at 7:30 p.m. and Lewis on Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
