ELSAH, Ill.-Fittingly, freshman Calli Anderson (Cabot, Ark.) netted the game-winning goal in Maryville's (4-11-3 overall) 1-0 overtime win against Principia (13-6) in its final game of the season.
This marked Anderson's second game-winning goal of the season as her first one occurred against in the Saints' first game of the season against Saint Joseph's on Sept. 5.
Classmate Ales Reis (Quincy, Ill.) had the assist on the goal in the 97th minute.
Sophomore goalkeeper Jena Casagrande (St. Louis) made six saves on the day to earn the shutout win.
The game remained scoreless throughout regulation, as Principia held the narrow edge in shots, 8-7. The Panthers outshot the Saints in the first overtime session, 3-2.
