Drury Falls to Arkansas-Ft. Smith In Volleyball Play Monday Night

FORT SMITH, Ark.- Drury rallied from an early 2-0 deficit but fell short in the end, falling to Arkansas Fort Smith 3-2 in women's college volleyball non-conference action here on Monday night.

The host Lions (11-9) won by scores of 25-22, 25-23, 16-25, 15-25 and 15-11.

Drury fell to 15-7 overall.

Senior Kyrie Hopkins led the Panthers with 17 kills, senior Kayla Hellebusch and junior Ali Rook added 14 kills each. Senior Austin Warren added a team-high 56 assists, while Hellebusch and Rook had 20 and 19 digs, each.

The Panthers are back in action on Friday when they entertain Missouri Science and Technology in a 7 p.m. Great Lakes Valley Conference match, the first athletic event ever to be played in the new O'Reilly Family Event Center.
