Truman Tops UMSL in Men's Soccer, 4-1

ST. LOUIS -Visiting Truman State used three second half goals to earn a 4-1 victory over the University of Missouri-St. Louis men’s soccer team Thursday night in non-conference play.

The Bulldogs took a 1-0 lead into halftime before extending the advantage to 3-0 with two goals in the first 15 minutes of the second stanza.
 
Tritons junior Almin Sabotic ended the UMSL drought in the 82nd minute when he one-timed it in the middle of the box off a pass from junior Alex Agne to cut the lead to 3-1.
 
Truman State would then score the game’s last goal in the 89th minute for the final score.
 
The Bulldogs out-shot UMSL 15-9 and owned a 9-6 edge in shots on goal. Sabotic took three shots for the Tritons, while junior David Schwer fired two shots, placing both on target.
 
UMSL returns to league action Sunday, traveling across town to Maryville for a 2:30 p.m. contest.
