ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - The 11th-ranked Lewis volleyball team rebounded from a first set loss to reel off three straight sets and secure a berth in the GLVC Tournament Championship match with a 24-26, 25-20, 25-16, 25-20 win over No. 25 Missouri-St. Louis. The Flyers will face No. 2 seed UIndy in the championship match at Neil Carey Arena on Sunday at 2 p.m. central.
Lewis (25-4) limited the visiting Tritons to an attack percentage of just .096 and turned the momentum of the contest midway through the second set after falling behind 12-7. The Flyers reeled off a 7-1 run to gain control of the crucial stanza.
The Flyers posted a .201 attack percentage and were led by senior Danielle Mount (Crest HIll, Ill./Lockport) who finished with a match-high 18 kills and recorded a .577 attack percentage.
Lewis senior Lauren Seliga (St. Louis, Mo./Nerinx) paced the Flyers with 12 kills and 21 digs.
Missouri-St. Louis (20-8) was guided by senior Carolyn Holstein (Brownsburg, Ind./Brownsburg) who had 24 digs and junior Weslie Gaff (Streator, Ill./Streator) who notched 10 kills.
