SOMERS, Wis. - Junior forward Brittany Beyer notched a game-high 23 points and senior center Brittany Hogen added 20 points to lead the UW-Parkside women's basketball team to a 102-79 victory over visiting Olivet Nazarene on Wednesday night. The Rangers (7-2), who did not attempt a three-pointer in the contest, shot 56.9 percent from the field.
UW-Parkside blitzed Olivet Nazarene in the first half by converting 70 percent (21-of-30) from the field. The Rangers built a 53-35 halftime advantage by holding Olivet Nazarene to a 22 percent effort from the field, including a 3-of-21 effort from behind the arc.
Beyer, who was 10-of-18 from the field, finished with seven rebounds and three assists. Hogen notched a double-double by chipping in 10 rebounds to go with her 20 points.
Teammates Jadee Rooney and Amy Selk helped pace the Rangers' offensive attack. Rooney finished with 10 points, seven rebounds and eight assists and Selk posted six points, 11 rebounds and eight assists.
Olivet Nazarene was led by Danielle Tolbert who scored a team-high 19 points.
UW-Parkside will next travel to Saginaw Valley State for a regional match-up on Dec. 29.
