ST. LOUIS - Matt Rogers has resigned as the head coach for the Maryville University men's basketball team effective at the conclusion of the 2009-10 season. Rogers also served as Summer Camps Business Manager for the university.
Under Rogers, Maryville has won two SLIAC (St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) regular-season conference titles (2003-04 and co-champions 2005-06) and the conference tournament championship in 2006. The Saints have qualified for the conference tournament in 2004-05, 2005-06, 2007-08 and 2008-09. Rogers received SLIAC Coach of the Year honors in 2003-04 and was a co-recipient in 2005-06.
The 2005-06 squad set the program's single season record with 217 made 3-point field goals.
Rogers has coached nine players who have received a combined 14 All-SLIAC honors including one Player of the Year and one Newcomer of the Year selection. His players have excelled in the classroom as well as 31 individuals have been named Academic All-SLIAC a combined 47 times. He has also coached a SLIAC Post-graduate scholarship recipient and a CoSIDA Academic All-District selection.
Maryville has made two NCAA Tournament appearances (2003-04 and 2005-06) under Rogers, exiting in the first round on both trips.
At press time, Rogers owns a 96-133 career record in nine seasons at the helm of the men's basketball program.
Rogers was involved in a variety of athletics administration duties at various times during his tenure, including: Interim Director of Athletics, Associate Director of Athletics, assisted in administering the five week summer soccer camp that regularly attracts approximately 1,000 campers each summer and directed the Maryville Golf Classic for a number of years.

Maryville is currently in Candidacy Year Two in the three-year reclassification process to NCAA Division II. After successful completion of the Candidacy Year Two, Maryville must be invited to enter the final provisional year while Maryville's readiness to become an active member will continue to be evaluated. At the conclusion of three year process, Maryville must be invited to active Division II membership.
Maryville has been a member of NCAA since 1978, and 2008-09 was its final year of affiliation with the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
Over its 30 year history, the Saints have made 15 appearances in NCAA post-season tournaments. Most recently, the women's basketball 2008-09 team set the NCAA Division III record for most consecutive conference wins with 92; a streak that ended with a win.
Maryville was admitted in to the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC), one of the premier NCAA Division II conferences in the nation, and began competing in this conference in the fall 2009.
