KWC Selects Craig Brown as Women's Volleyball Coach

OWENSBORO, Ky. - Craig Brown, assistant volleyball coach at Brescia University in Owensboro for the past two-and-half seasons, has been chosen as head coach at Kentucky Wesleyan College, as announced by Director of Athletics Gary Gallup today.
“We are excited to have Craig join our athletic staff," said Gallup. "His passion for the game and coaching experience are a great fit for our program and team goals.”
During his tenure at BU, the Bearcats finished second in the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (KIAC) where they had all-league honorees.
Brown also completed his third year as the head coach of the Audubon Volleyball Association Owensboro Club. His 2008 team became the first squad from Western Kentucky or Southern Indiana to qualify for the national tournament. Nine players signed play at the collegiate level.
Prior to Brescia, he served the 1996 season as the interim head coach at Owensboro High School where he led the varsity, junior varsity and freshman teams to their the first winning season in Red Devil history.
Brown began his coaching career at KWC when he was a student-assistant coach for the Panthers during the mid-90's for two seasons.
"Kentucky Wesleyan is in my blood and to receive my first head coaching position with the Panthers I am very honored," Brown said. "I want to build on the great core of student-athletes that (retired) coaches Dale and Ann White brought in and their competitiveness in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.
The native of Livermore, Ky., earned a Level I certification from the USA Volleyball's Coaching Impact Program.
