HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Jason Cisper extended his hitting streak to 35 consecutive games Thursday afternoon as Northern Kentucky University posted a 7-4 win against UC-Clermont.

Cisper went 2-for-4 and scored a run for NKU (7-4), which rallied from a 4-1 deficit to pick up the non-conference victory. Cisper, a senior outfielder from Moeller High School in Cincinnati, has hit safely in all 11 games this season. He finished the 2009 season with a 24-game hitting streak.

UC-Clermont built a 4-1 lead after three innings, but the NKU bullpen held the Cougar offense scoreless the remainder of the game. Joe Mack drove in two runs for NKU, which scored three times in the fifth inning to tie the contest at 4-all. Bryan Rose’s RBI gounder to second base plated Mack with the tying run.

NKU snapped the tie in the sixth inning when Bradley Vanderglas singled with one out and advanced to third on a double to right-center field by Cisper. Pat Muth drove in Vanderglas with a grounder to second base, giving NKU its first lead.

NKU added a pair of insurance runs in the seventh inning to extend the lead to 7-4. Norse relievers Bryan Baldini, Kevin Jordan and Chase Stewart combined for six inning of scoreless relief, with Baldini earning his first career victory at NKU. Stewart recorded the final three outs and notched the save.
